David Salmon was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. After graduating from Rancho High School and completing his undergraduate work at UNLV, Mr. Salmon moved to Sacramento, California to attend law school. During this time, Mr. Salmon worked as a law clerk in the office of an estate planning and probate attorney. He returned to Las Vegas after law school and started his legal carrier working on insurance bad faith cases.
When Mr. Salmon formed his first solo practice in 2004, he broadened his area of practice to include real estate, HOA, consumer law, and business matters. He also went back to his roots in estate planning. In 2010 Mr. Salmon was appointed by the City Council to be an Alternate Judge in North Las Vegas Municipal Court and in 2011 Mr. Salmon was appointed a small claims referee in Las Vegas Justice Court.

Douglas Ranney founded his law firm after more than 13 years working with legendary Texas attorney Robert M. Phillips (Bob Phillips). Bob tragically and unexpectedly passed away in March of 2021, and Ranney knew his only course was to start his own firm from the ground up, with the principles that matter to him most.
